Goo Removal

Also called sticker removal. I use both De-Solve-It and Goo Gone. Both work. I have used the De-Solve-It to remove decades old sticky tape stuff from a depression glass bowl and not damaged the finish.

Before I did this I tested it on another piece, then on a small spot on the underside of the piece.

ALWAYS TEST!!

Some finishes on older pieces can be ruined by this stuff! I was very lucky! I went in to this knowing I could destroy the finish.

Another thing I found, this time by accident, is that both products will remove a moderate amount of tarnish from modern silver plated items. I was trying to remove a sticker from a silver plated pie server and while I scrubbed away at it with a toothbrush i saw that the tarnish was going away as well.

I tested this on a vintage silver plated goblet that is tarnished black... It did not work at all. On another goblet that I halfheartedly cleaned (with Hagerty) it also did nothing.
